Our old Sony AV-receiver, was getting some hick-ups, so we decided it was time for something new.
We bought a Denon AVR-S650H.
This new receiver does not only have 5x 4K HDMI inputs, but also supports all (new) sound formats.
Also this device offers a wide variety of streaming services. (wired or wireless, you may choose)
TuneIn is the way to go, if you want to add custom streams. (almost nobody knows this)
If you add a custom streams in the TuneIn app itself, it simply shows up in the Denon app also.
And with Heos, you have full control of your building-wide music.
Another feature that we “wanted”, was integration with Google Home assistant, which also works fine.
Furthermore, while still using the same speakers, the sound is way more clear.
In the same songs as before, I hear sounds that where simply not there with the Sony receiver.
Also, when a dog barks in a movie, Bear also reacts to this, this was not the case with the Sony receiver.
I dare to say: Mission accomplish Denon ! 🙂
